About TransCentralPA |
|
|
What
We Do...
-
TransCentralPA is a Federally recognized 501c3
Non-profit organization dedicated to serving the
Transgender community in and around Central
Pennsylvania.
-
We host monthly meetings to provide a safe and
nurturing place for members and guests to meet
together to better understand, accept and take
pride & joy in their Transgendered lives.
-
We plan and organize outings and events where
our members and guests can feel safe.
-
We host the
Keystone Conference, the largest Transgender
conference in the mid-Atlantic region. Our
2010 conference had 250 attendees.
-
We participate with and support other TLGBQ
activities and organizations.
-
We organize the TransCentralPA Speaker Series,
sponsoring and hosting prominent Transgender
leaders, doctors and organizations in the
Central Pennsylvania area.
-
We educate the public by providing guest
speakers, brochures and material to businesses,
education institutions and other organizations.
-
We maintain an informative website that lists
various Transgender resources, activities,
events, and conferences as well as local
Trans-friendly businesses and services.
-
We work with other Trans-supportive
organizations to coordinate and clarify laws and
policies affecting the Transgender community in
Pennsylvania.

Visit Us
Are you Transgendered or are you a friend or
family member of someone who is transgendered and would like more
information?
Are you just emerging from the proverbial closet and feeling nervous or
self-conscious?
Well, our goal is to provide a meaningful and enjoyable
opportunity to feel comfortable with yourself and loved ones. If this is your first
time, being nervous is expected and we promise to do all we can to help alleviate
your anxiety. We guarantee you’ll develop honest and true friendships
faster than you every have in your life. We all have known at one point
the anxiety of keeping this ‘secret.’ Share yours and let go of that
toxic shame and guilt! There is a lot to digest both educationally and
emotionally! Being
out for your first time can be exhilarating, but will also lead to a
number of profound emotions, feelings, thoughts and questions that
you’ll want to remember and reflect upon when you have more time. You
may want to consider keeping a journal to jot down your thoughts and
feelings.
If you are looking for a hotel to stay at, we have
negotiated a special reduced rate at the Red Roof Inn - South in
Harrisburg. See the ad to the right for more information

Asked Questions (FAQs) page for more information.
